Reports

Reports people build first

One formula each. Put it in a cell, fill it down a column, or turn the table into a pivot and a chart.

=data.projects.sum(budget, status, "Working on it")
Totals from any board. Add a board (here one called Projects, with Status, Owner, Budget and Due date columns) as a data source and sum any numbers column, with criteria such as ">=100" or "<>Done".
=data.projects.count(name, status, A2)
Status breakdown. Put each status in column A (=list.projects(status) spills them) and count the items beside it.
=data.projects.sum(budget, owner, A2)
Per person. Items or budget per owner, from the people column.
=data.all_projects.sum(budget, board, A2)
Several boards as one table. A consolidation reads boards with the same columns as one table with a Board column.
=data.projects.count(name, due_date, "<"&TODAY(), status, "<>Done")
Overdue items. Items whose date passed and are not done.

FAQ

Questions

Do viewers see boards they have no access to?

No. Every formula reads boards with the viewer's own monday.com permissions, so a sheet never shows more than that person may see.

Can I change board items from a sheet?

Yes, with linked tables: edit items in the sheet, then Send changes writes them to the board, with a check that nobody changed them in the meantime.

Can an AI assistant work in my sheets?

Yes. Under Work with AI, connect Claude or another MCP client. Choose read only, read and edit, or also board write-back; you can change or revoke it at any time.

Can one sheet combine several boards?

Yes. A consolidation reads boards with the same columns as one table, with a Board column to tell them apart.

Where does Sheets run?

On monday.com's own app infrastructure (monday code, EU region).
